Three Missouri softball players named to academic all-district team

Three Missouri softball players were named to the Capitol One Academic All-District 6 Team on Friday, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Outfielder Ashley Fleming, catcher Jenna Marston and pitcher Chelsea Thomas were named to the District 6 team, which covers all players in the states of Arkansas, Iowa, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin. 

Fleming, a journalism major with a 3.78 GPA, leads the Tigers in all major offensive categories.

Marston, an industrial engineering major, has a 3.98 GPA and is batting .296 for the Tigers. 

Thomas, a biology major with a 3.48 GPA, was one of two pitchers chosen for the team. She is 19-7 0n the season with a 1.03 ERA. 

All three players are eligible for the Capital One Academic All-American team, which will be announced later in May.
