COLUMBIA — Even though the Rock Bridge baseball team has clinched the No. 1 seed for the Class 4, District 9 tournament, the Bruins didn't let up against visiting Fatima in a 4-3 comeback victory Tuesday in the Bruins' final regular season game.

Down 3-1 with two outs in the bottom of the sixth-inning, Rock Bridge pitcher and Missouri recruit Ryan Phillips hit a two-RBI double to tie the game.

The Bruins held off Fatima in the top of the seventh then avoided extra innings with the winning run in the bottom of the frame.

After senior Ryan Schmidt reached base on a Fatima error, junior Shelby Wilson came into pinch run and stole second base. Wilson scored when senior catcher Jeff Ausmus hit a walk-off single up the middle.

The Bruins (19-6) play next at 4 p.m. Monday in the semifinals of the Class 4, District 9 Tournament. They will face the winner of the district quarterfinal game between Hickman and host Troy Buchanan.
