Woman arrested after shot fired at Oakland Gravel Road

COLUMBIA — A woman was arrested at her home Tuesday morning in connection with a gunshot fired at Oakland Gravel Road on Monday.

Kendra McClain was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon, according to a Columbia Police Department news release. Bond for the assault charge has been set at $4,500. Bond has yet to be set for the unlawful use of a weapon charge.

Officers were dispatched to the 3700 block of Oakland Gravel Road at 1:22 p.m. on Monday after a caller reported hearing a shot fired.

A woman had fired one shot at a male victim, according to a news release. When the officers arrived, the suspect had left the scene.

The suspect and the victim were acquaintances, Columbia Police Department spokeswoman Latisha Stroer said.

No one was injured.
