COLUMBIA — Almeta Crayton, a former First Ward city councilwoman, is hosting a barbecue to celebrate Columbia's "forgotten" veterans at noon Monday. The event will take place at her home, 409 Oak St., and welcomes all veterans who are unable to attend other Memorial Day events such as the air show.
