COLUMBIA — After nearly 24 years of service, Chamber of Commerce president Don Laird will retire on Jan. 15, per an announcement Thursday morning.

During Laird's tenure, the Chamber expanded The Women’s Network and Emerging Professionals in Columbia divisions, received the highest national accreditation possible and received the 2010 Missouri Chamber of Commerce "Chamber of the Year" award.

The search for Laird's replacement will begin immediately, according to a release issued by the chamber.

Kee Groshong and Bob Wagner have already been named co-chairs of a chamber task force in charge with selecting Laird’s replacement. Other chamber members will be named to the task force soon, according to the release.

Supervising Editor is Dan Burley
