KANSAS CITY — Israeli police have found the body of a Missouri man who went missing from a tour group last week

Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said the body of 80-year-old Herman Kuehn of Platte County was found Tuesday in an industrial area close to the Bet Shean ancient ruins in northeast Israel.

Rosenfeld said there were no signs of foul play. Further details on a possible cause of death or how the body was found were not immediately available.

Kuehn had been missing since Friday when he didn't return to his tour group during a visit to the historic site. Israeli police launched an intense search after Kuehn was reported missing.

Kuehn's' wife, Mary, was with him and is safe. The tour group is scheduled to return to the U.S. on Thursday.
