Virginia "Ginny" Lee Starks loved quilting, golfing, her family

Virginia "Ginny" Lee Starks of Columbia died Tuesday, May 29, 2012, surrounded by family at home. She was 67.

Mrs. Starks was born Jan. 10, 1945, in Boone County to Ruth (McBaine) Harris. She was a longtime Columbia resident and a graduate of Hickman High School. She married Stan Starks on March 27, 1971, in Columbia.

Mrs. Starks enjoyed quilting, golfing, playing Bunko and sharing hospitality with family and friends.

Mrs. Starks is survived by her husband, Stan Starks; three sons, Gary Vaught, Jason Starks and wife, Heather, all of Columbia, and Ronald "Dino" Vaught of St. Louis; one sister, Donna Barnhart and husband, Rodney, of Columbia; three grandchildren; and seven nieces and nephews.

Her mother died earlier.

Visitations will be held there from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop 70 W.  Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
