COLUMBIA — Summer kicks into high gear this weekend as the Columbia Art League presents the 54th annual Art in the Park at Stephens Lake Park.
Guests will have the opportunity to see, taste and experience the event as artists, food vendors and live entertainers share their talents with Columbia.
It’s like a small town in the park – a village of white tents, said Diana Moxon, executive director of the Columbia Art League. People can expect a special experience, she said.
Art in the Park will feature 110 artists from across the country who work in a variety of mediums. Art forms presented will include ceramics, fibers, glass, mixed media, drawings, prints, jewelry, paintings, photography, sculptures and woodwork.
The festival will also include an Emerging Artist Pavilion featuring art created by high school and undergraduate students in Boone County.
A variety of food will be available, including Jamaican cuisine, barbecue, sushi, wok-fried dishes, kettle corn, Italian ice, ice cream, fruit smoothies, fudge and homemade pasta.
