COLUMBIA — Anthony T. Graves pleaded not guilty Monday to charges related to the killing of DeAudre Orlando Johnson on March 12.

Graves was in court Monday to answer charges of murder in the second degree and armed criminal action.

Johnson, of Columbia, was 17 when he died of a gunshot wound one block west of Douglass Park near Trinity Place and Switzler Street.

Latisha Stroer of the Columbia Police Department said Johnson was not the intended target of the shooting. The shooting followed a fight earlier that night that has been tied to a family feud.

Johnson was taken to University Hospital and died the next day.

Graves, 19, was arrested in March.

A trial date for Graves has not been set.

Supervising editor is Jeanne Abbott.
