COLUMBIA — After one season, Missouri basketball assistant coach Ernie Nestor is leaving to be an assistant coach at Navy.
Navy will not formally announce his hiring until he signs his contract but has confirmed Nestor will join the Midshipmen.
Nestor joined Frank Haith's staff last year after working as the director of basketball operations at Penn State. He will join second-year coach and former Penn State head coach Ed DeChellis at Navy.
Nestor was part of the Missouri team that went 30-5 in the 2011-12 season, but he will face a considerably tougher situation in Annapolis after Navy went winless in the Patriot League conference play last season.
