Missouri Symphony Orchestra brings music to Stephens Lake Park Amphitheater

The Missouri Symphony Orchestra presented its "Strike Up the Band" concert Thursday evening at Stephens Lake Park Amphitheater.
COLUMBIA — Columbia residents gathered Thursday at the Stephens Lake Park Amphitheater to listen to the Missouri Symphony Orchestra's "Strike Up the Band" concert.
The orchestra, directed by Kirk Trevor, played 14 songs from composers including Gershwin and Strauss. More modern compositions, such as "Mambo" from "West Side Story" and a medley of Beatles' songs, were also played.
