COLUMBIA — Charles Marleon Buchanan, 20, was arrested Tuesday and charged with fleeing the scene after he allegedly crashed a car into a house on Third Avenue.

Columbia police received a call about the incident at 4:07 p.m. Tuesday and arrested Buchanan shortly after.

Buchanan was an unlicensed driver, but police confirmed he was not intoxicated.

Although no one was in the residence at the time and no injuries were reported, the owner estimates there was $35,000 worth of damage, Columbia police said.

Buchanan was released from jail on a $4,500 bond.
