ST. LOUIS — The mother of a 14-year-old St. Louis girl who was shot to death is making a plea for help in capturing the killer.

Corneshia Smith was shot in the head Sunday night near a park in the city's Dutchtown area. She died Tuesday.

Her mother, Terrica Riley, told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that she wants justice because her daughter was an innocent victim who was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Riley said her daughter might have been watching a fight and was likely not an intended target. But police said Corneshia was shot after she had quarreled with several people earlier in the day.
