Betty Hoffman, 81, of Columbia, MO passed away June 22, 2012.
She was born August 3, 1930, in Boone County, MO to Laura (Jackson) and Ernest V. Chick, Sr. Betty married Ray B. Hoffman in Salem, AR, on May 16, 1949, and he preceded her in death.
She was a member of VFW Post 280 Ladies’ Auxiliary, a former member of the Elks Lodge, and a former volunteer at Boone Hospital, Columbia Regional Hospital, Rainbow House, and Columbia Area Senior Center. She worked as a bookkeeper for Como Tire for nearly two decades.
Betty is survived by her children: Donald Hoffman (Wanda), Ronnie Hoffman (Zelpha), both of Columbia, and Brenda Dennis (Don) of Hallsville, MO; her siblings: Joyce Huskey of Columbia, MO, Lu Gray of Hallsville, MO, and Patsy Usher (Ted) of St. Louis, MO; her grandchildren: Misty Douglass (Lynn) of Centralia, MO, Chris Dennis (Larinee) of Hannibal, MO, Tony Hoffman of Auxvasse, MO, Leslie Aguilar (Froylan) of Columbia, MO, and Jonathan Dennis (Kristin) of Mission, KS; great-grandchildren: Baylee Douglass of Centralia, MO, Alexis Hoffman of Auxvasse, MO, Fisher Young of Boonville, MO, Jachin Dennis of Hannibal, MO, and Emma Dennis of Mission, KS.
In addition to her husband, Betty was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jack Chick; half-brother, Ernest Chick, Jr.; and granddaughter, Amber Hoffman Young.
A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, June 25, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
