COLUMBIA — Kasiani Aslanidis of Columbia died Friday, June 29, 2012. She was 82.
Mrs. Aslanidis was born August 29, 1929.
In 1950, she married Gus Aslanidis. The couple immigrated to the United States in 1966, and they settled in Columbia in 1969.
Mrs. Aslanidis and her husband were dedicated to their family businesses, G & D Steakhouse, 2001 W. Worley St., and Jimmy's Family Steakhouse, 3101 S. Providence Road. She loved to cook, garden, bake and spend time with her family. She loved children, and even when she faced difficult times with Alzheimer's disease, seeing children always brought joy to her face.
Mrs. Aslanidis is survived by her husband; three sons, Jimmy Aslanidis and his wife, Tina, Angelo Aslanidis and his wife, Elly, and Alex Aslanidis and his wife, Renee; a daughter, Maria Duncan and her husband, Douglas; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Leo Terzopoulous and Taso Terzopoulous; and a sister, Parthena Likourgos.
Her brother, George Terzopoulous; and two sisters, Evrope Kostas and Maria Stavridis, died earlier.
George Terzopoulous opened G&D Pizza-Steak at 2101 W. Broadway in 1977.
Services will be at 5 p.m. Saturday at Saint Luke the Evangelist Greek Orthodox Church, 1510 Audubon Drive. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
