Fishing derby to be Saturday at A. Perry Philips Park

COLUMBIA — The second annual fishing derby at A. Perry Philips Park will give attendees the chance to catch fish and win prizes.

Registration is from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday, and the derby will begin shorty afterward. 

Fishing derby information

A. Perry Philips Park is located east of the intersection of Bearfield and Gans roads at 5050 Bristol Lake Parkway. 

  • Registration begins 9 a.m.
  • Derby begins at 9:30 a.m.

The event will have prizes for smallest fish, largest fish and first fish caught in each age category. Attendees between the ages of 16 and 64 will need a fishing license to participate.

The derby is a free event, co-sponsored by Columbia Parks and Recreation and the Missouri Department of Conservation.
