Brayden Mayo Anderson of Ashland passed away July 4th, 2012, at Lake Regional Hospital at the Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri. He was 8 years old.
Brayden was born on June 15, 2004, the son of Brian and Angela O'Bryan Anderson. Brayden was a student at Southern Boone County School in Ashland where he received academic awards including the Star Student Award. He loved playing Optimist basketball and flag football. He also enjoyed riding his bike, reading, computer games and playing with his brother and sister. He shared a passion with his family for swimming and boating. Brayden loved the outdoors and could often be found swinging or jumping on the trampoline. He was never without a smile and had a gift for making others laugh.
Brayden was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Columbia where he was baptized and received his first communion. God has taken him home where he is an angel resting in His arms in everlasting peace.
Visitation will be held on July 9th, 2012, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. followed by a prayer vigil at 7:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Columbia. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on July 10th, 2012, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with burial following at Liberty Cemetery in Ashland. A reception will follow the burial at the Southern Boone High School Commons.
Pallbearers include uncles Tom Elverson and Troy Whitt and cousins Ted Elverson, John Elverson, Geoffery Whitt and Brian Poynter.
Survivors include his parents, Brian and Angela Anderson and one brother, Garrett Anderson, all of Ashland; maternal grandparents, Mary Jane Kraska of St. Charles, MO and Gary and Susan O'Bryan of Lentner, MO; paternal grandmother, Freda Anderson, of Hamilton, MO; his maternal great-grandmother, Velma Jo Thale, of Quincy, Illinois; maternal uncle and aunt, Mark and Deborah Gast, of Fulton, MO; maternal aunt, Cynthia O'Bryan, of Fulton, MO; paternal aunt and uncle, Cindy and Tom Elberson, of Sherman, SD; paternal aunt and uncle, Barbara and Greg Fitch, of Manhattan, KS; paternal aunt and uncle, Lori and Troy Whitt, of Hamilton, MO; along with several cousins.
Brayden was preceded in death by his grandfather, Mayo J. Anderson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Boone County National Bank Scholarship Fund in care of the family.
