COLUMBIA — Police are looking for a male suspect after a robbery Monday evening at the Subway restaurant at 2716 Paris Road.

Shortly before 9:50 p.m., a man wearing a mask approached a Subway employee behind the store as the employee was leaving and demanded cash, Columbia Police Department spokeswoman Latisha Stroer said. The employee and suspect reentered the restaurant where the suspect took an undisclosed amount of money from the register. The suspect then fled the restaurant in an unknown direction.

The suspect did not show a weapon, Stroer said, and no injuries were reported during the robbery.

Police arrived, and a K-9 unit was brought in, but the dog was unsuccessful in tracking the suspect's direction, she said.

The suspect's race, age, height and weight are unknown, Stroer said. The police were still investigating Tuesday.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Columbia Police Department or CrimeStoppers at 875-TIPS (8477).
