Missouri Symphony brass quintet plays in Douglass Park

Wednesday, July 11, 2012 | 10:12 p.m. CDT

A brass quintet from the Missouri Symphony's Hot Summer Nights program played during lunch at Douglass Park on Wednesday.

The lunch program, which provides free meals for children, is in its 12th summer and is a joint effort of the Voluntary Action Center, the city Health Department and the Parks and Recreation Department. According to an article submitted by Ron Schmidt, a project director with the Voluntary Action Center, the program provides children about 4,000 healthy lunches each summer.

The musicians in the brass quintet are Alex Pickard, left, Josh Bledsoe, Angelo Manzo, David Renfro and Alan Evans.

More photographs from the lunch Wednesday may be viewed on the Missourian's Facebook page.
