ST. LOUIS — Brian Wahby is running for treasurer in St. Louis, a job that oversees city parking enforcement. Among the fines he might have to collect are his own.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported that other candidates for treasurer and members of the public are critical of Wahby for failing to pay the fine for four parking tickets that date back to 1998.

Wahby, who is chairman of the city's Democratic Party, said he gets and pays a lot of tickets. He said those four simply slipped through the cracks.

The Post-Dispatch said Wahby isn't alone in piling up tickets. Five of the seven treasurer candidates have been assessed late fees for tickets.

But Wahby had the most tickets with 50, and the most late fees with 33.
