George H. Marshall, Nov. 24, 1946 — July 13, 2012, of New Franklin

George H. Marshall, age 65, of New Franklin, passed away at his home on July 13, 2012. He was born November 24, 1946, in Enid, Oklahoma to George W. and Edna Bridgers Marshall.

He married Dianne Wiemholt on March 20, 1976, in New Franklin and she survives the family home. 

Mr. Marshall served in the U.S. Army Dental Corps from 1967-1970. He was retired from the University of Missouri as a Data Center Manager.

George's interests were many. He was a past member of the New Franklin Youth Athletic Association, the New Franklin Businessmen's Association, New Franklin Lions Club, was a past president of the New Franklin Swim Club and was co-founder of the Missouri Pride Softball Organization. He loved coaching softball, following the St. Louis Cardinals and the University of Missouri Sports, classic cars and tractors, biking on the Katy Trail, traveling, observing wildlife, tending to his yard and trees and vacationing in Branson. However most important was his love of his wife, Dianne and their children, Mike and Kacey and supporting their activities. 

Cherishing his memory are his wife, Dianne Marshall of New Franklin, and his children Mike Marshall and Kacey Marshall, both of Columbia, and a sister, Jerry Schneider of Banning, California. 

George was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Maxine Nelson. 

Services celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Bible Baptist Church in New Franklin. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
