Sonja Raitt-Ogden was teacher, softball champion

COLUMBIA — Sonja D. Raitt-Ogden of Columbia died Wednesday, July 18, 2012. She was 49.

She was born Dec. 29, 1962, in Salem, Ore., to Daryll and Mary Lou Raitt.

Ms. Raitt-Ogden worked as a sixth grade teacher at Southern Boone County School for several years. She played softball for the Southern Boone Eagles during which her team won the first State Championship.

She was a member of Peace United Church of Christ in Hartsburg.

Ms. Raitt-Ogden is survived by her son, Ian Ogden, of Hartsburg; her daughter, Amy Ogden, of Columbia; her parents, Daryll and Mary Lou Raitt, of Hartsburg; her sisters, Susan Gilpin and her husband, Leonard, of Ashland, and Sandi Wyatt and her husband, Steve, of Hartsburg.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. Saturday at Peace United Church of Christ, 121 N. First Street in Hartsburg. Services will be held at 11 a.m. at the church.

Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
