Bernice Neomi Reddick Zobrisky passed away in her sleep early Saturday morning, July 28, 2012, at her home in Hinton, Missouri, in the company of her family. She is survived by her husband, Steve E. Zobrisky (Hinton), her six children; Sharon Hayes (Massachusetts), Toni Bray (California), Mark Zobrisky (Maryland), Ann Cooley (Virginia), Bruce Zobrisky (Maryland) and Kelly Sanders (North Carolina) and their families, including 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and by her brothers Jesse Reddick (Jackson), Roy Reddick (Columbia) and her sister Grace Ann Pettus (Bonne Terre) and sister-in-laws, Deloris Reddick (Columbia), and Carol Reddick (Cape Gerardo).
Born on April 4, 1926, Bernice was the eldest of the eight children of Grace and Oral Reddick. She grew up in Farmington, Missouri and after marrying Steve Zobrisky, lived in Columbia/Hinton Missouri, Buenos Aires, Argentina, Moscow, Idaho, and Silver Springs, Maryland, before returning to Hinton in 1988.
Bernice and Steve are long time members of Oakland Christian Church, where Bernice was an active member of the women’s group. Her many pleasures in life included gardening, reading, and baking. She was well known for her canned produce, her green bean casserole, her dinner rolls and those marvelous cinnamon buns.
Bernice’s generous, loving spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. Her unfailing acceptance of everyone for who they are and the joy she brought to everyone will always be a treasured part of our lives and will live on eternally in the gift of life she leaves behind.
There will be a public viewing at Memorial Funeral Home and Cemetery, 1217 Business Loop 70, Columbia, MO on Tuesday, July 31 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral services and burial will take place at the Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 1 at 10:00 AM followed by a gathering to celebrate Bernice at Oakland Christian Church, Oakland Gravel Road, Columbia, MO.
