Suspect arrested in connection with fatal March shooting

COLUMBIA – A man was arrested Wednesday on charges of second-degree murder, armed criminal action and two counts of failure to appear in connection with a fatal shooting that took place in March.

Durantrae Logan, 20, of Columbia, was the second suspect arrested in connection with the death of Lamont Sargent, who was shot in his home at 305 N. Eighth St. on March 4.

Logan was arrested at 1609 Typhoon Drive around 3 a.m. after the Columbia Police Department received a tip that he was staying at the address.

Larrell Banks, 19, was also arrested in connection with the incident on March 5 on charges of second-degree murder and armed criminal action. The next day, a warrant was issued for Logan's arrest.

Logan is being held on a total bond of $1,100,000.
