Incoming MU freshman to play in 2012 FIBA Americas U18 Championship

COLUMBIA — Michelle Hudyn, an incoming freshman at MU, will play in the 2012 FIBA Americas Under-18 Championship game this year. 

According toa press release from MU Athletics, Hudyn was one of 12 student-athletes to be named to the Canadian Junior Women's National Team.

Hudyn said in the release that she's very excited to be playing on the team for the first time this year. 

"I will be playing as a four on the floor and I am looking forward to contributing a lot while with the team," she said. "It is an honor to be able to wear Canada across my chest as we travel to Puerto Rico after our ten-day training camp this August."

The team will be coached by Andy Sparks, the head women's basketball coach at the University of Ottawa. Hudyn and her team will be one of eight to compete in Gurabo, Puerto Rico from August 15-19.
