Missouri football to host Football X's and O's clinic for women

COLUMBIA — The athletics department at MU will hold the annual X's and O's Clinic on Aug. 25 at Memorial Stadium in the LeMone Tiger Lounge.

Rockie Alden, wife of Missouri Athletics Director Mike Alden, will host the event. Attendees will have the opportunity to watch an otherwise closed Missouri football practice and have brunch in the lounge. Coach Gary Pinkel and the Tigers' team captains will talk about the game of football.

Christie Leigh Mueller, who wrote "Gridiron Belles: A Guide to Saturdays in Dixie," will talk about tailgating in the SEC. Dave Matter will be selling and signing copies of his new book, "The Mizzou Fan's Survival Guide to the SEC." The book costs $17.

Registration costs $40 and begins at 9:30 a.m. The program starts at 11 a.m. Registration includes food, beverage and a gift. Mizzou Women's Connection members get complimentary admission to the clinic.
