Mildred Pauley enjoyed sewing and making Barbie dolls for daughters

COLUMBIA — Mildred Elizabeth Pauley of Ashland died Monday, Aug. 13, 2012. She was 91.

Mrs. Pauley was born Sept. 1, 1920, in Boone County to Wayne and Dorothy Pauley Martin. In December 1941, she married Kenneth Thomas.They were married until his death in 1982. She later married Wilbur Pauley in January 1984.

Mrs. Pauley worked as a secretary at insurance companies in Columbia. She enjoyed sewing, camping, quilting and making Barbie doll clothing for her daughters and nieces.

She was a member of the Nashville Baptist Church and Southern Boone County Senior Center.

Mrs. Pauley is survived by her sister, Helen Nichols of Ashland; two daughters, Lori Sallee and husband, David, of Fair Grove, and Lisa Hoopengardner and husband, Gary, of Columbia; a stepson, Larry Pauley; a stepdaughter, Louann Hoover; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Her first and second husbands, Kenneth Thomas and Wilbur Pauley; four brothers; and two sisters died earlier.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Robinson Funeral Home in Ashland. Services will follow at the funeral home.
