LETTER TO THE EDITOR: From one city to another, beware of GoTopless event

Tuesday, August 14, 2012 | 5:35 p.m. CDT

It seems that the good folks at are working toward Columbia. Coming from another American city, Asheville, N.C., that has been graced by their activities, I would encourage your community to resist this deceptive exercise ironically created by a man and a para-religious organization.

At last year’s topless event in Asheville, the "topless protest" was characterized by stripteases on our city fountain, sexual performance in front of minors and participation by underage teens. Their pretense that this was an innocent little exercise in equal rights for chests was betrayed by actions and pictures.
