COLUMBIA — A burglary occurred at about 11:36 p.m. Tuesday at 1403 Avatar Court. The victim, a 25-year-old woman, was sleeping in her bed when two men kicked in the rear door of her house, grabbed her and threw her on the ground.

One of men struck her in the face before both men took her purse and fled on foot, according to a news release from the Columbia Police Department. The woman sustained minor injuries.

At 12:02 a.m. Wednesday, the Columbia Fire Department told local police they found a purse while fighting a grass fire near Edenton Boulevard and Bodie Drive. The purse appeared to belong to the victim, the release stated.

Police said no arrests have been made, but the investigation is ongoing.
