Jerry Winston Hunter Sr., Nov. 2, 1934 — Aug. 15, 2012, formerly of Harrisburg

Jerry Winston Hunter Sr., 77, of Harrisburg, passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2012.

Visitation will be held Sunday, August 19, 2012, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home, with Masonic and Rose Croix services at 5:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 20, 2012, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Jerry was born November 2, 1934 in Damsel, MO to Clarence Herbert and Ethel (Seaton) Hunter. He received an Honorary H.S. Diploma through the Operation Recognition Program in 2002. He is a retired Army 1st Sgt. and a retired Deputy Sheriff of Boone County. Jerry was a member of Twilight Lodge 114; Columbia Valley Scottish Rite, Columbia Chapter, Centralia Council; St. Graal Commandery; Moolah Shrine; Boone Chapter Order of the Eastern Star; Temple Shrine #7, White Shrine of Jerusalem; North Gate Chapter of Amaranth; Aleppo Grotto; Rainbow Dad Emeritus, Columbia Assembly #18, International Order of Rainbow for Girls.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Mary Paula; sons, J.D. Hunter and wife Melanie (Osage Beach) and Rob Kent (Columbia); grandchildren, Jacob Hunter (Ft. Worth) and Tyler and Zachary Hunter (Osage Beach); special friends, Sarah and Daryl Fehling; Brothers-in-law and spouses, Chuck Boone (Corky), Jim Boone (Peggy), Bob Boone and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, J.W. (Butch) Hunter Jr; one daughter, Dianna Downing; three brothers, J. Bill, Bobby Joe and Johnnie Hunter.
