COLUMBIA — A man who police said robbed the Petromart Convenience Store at 5612 St. Charles Road was arrested Tuesday near the store.

Columbia police said a man entered the store shortly before 3 p.m., demanded money and threatened to hurt the female clerk if she did not comply. He then fled toward Interstate 70 with an undisclosed amount of cash.

With the help of the Boone County Sheriff’s Department, police arrested a man who was identified as the same person who'd robbed the store. Police found money in his possession.

Joseph P. Largent, 18, of 5805 Limoges Drive, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree robbery. He was being held in the Boone County Jail; bond had not been set.
