ST. JOSEPH — Missouri Western State University is considering expanding its alcohol policy for both on- and off-campus events.

The school in St. Joseph was a dry campus until April 2008, when it began allowing wine and beer at specific events at a few buildings on campus.

On Wednesday, the university's Board of Governors put off voting on amendments to the policy until its September meeting.

The St. Joseph News-Press reported that the board is considering one set of rules for using alcohol for on-campus events, and another for events off-campus that Missouri Western sponsors.

Alcohol is prohibited in residence halls and any other building not specifically named in the current policy.
