Your social media guide to the 2012 General Election

COLUMBIA — As campaigns heat up in preparation for November's general election, social media figures to play a prominent role as candidates fight for "likes" and "follows."

You can find pictures from the trail on Facebook, press releases on Twitter and political advertisements on YouTube. Of course, how each candidate chooses to use each platform is up to him or her.
