KANSAS CITY — A family foundation has donated $3 million to the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

The $3 million gift from the Regnier Family Foundations will establish the Regnier Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation in the university's business school.

The Kansas City Star reports that the gift will be used to help student executives launch major new ventures and will also support the institute's new master of science in global entrepreneurship and innovation.

UMKC President Leo Morton said the money will also help the7-year-old institute attract the best students and prepare the next generation of entrepreneurs.
