Temperatures reached into the upper 90s Tuesday, but the heat didn't keep some Columbia residents from heading outdoors.

COLUMBIA — The hot summer days aren't keeping some people inside. Temperatures reached into the upper 90s Tuesday, but as August turns to September, sunshine could fade with Isaac bringing rain showers to mid-Missouri.

In a special statement issued at 3 p.m. Tuesday, the National Weather Service said "weekend rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches are possible with locally higher amounts."
