Hickman girls win Camdenton-Laker Invitational

CAMDENTON — The Hickman girls golf team bounced back on Wednesday night after a 176-150 loss to their crosstown rivals on Monday.

Patricia DeCastro led the Kewpies to a six-stroke team victory in the Camdenton-Laker Invitational at Old Kinderhook Golf Course.

DeCastro fired a four over-par (75) on her way to a second place individual tournament finish.

The Kewpies' score of 369 edged out Blue Springs South (375), Blue Springs (383), Kickapoo (387) and Farmington (394).

Claire McDonald shot 92, good enough for 13th place individually. Laura Rowe also finished with a 98.

Blue Springs' Mariah Peters won the individual tournament with a score of 74. Sun Jung of Glendale and Megan Keck of Cole Camp each shot 77 and were the only others to finish under 80.
