Section of Old Route K to shut down for Missouri football game

Friday, August 31, 2012 | 8:28 p.m. CDT

COLUMBIA — Old Route K south of Reactor Field will be closed from 3 p.m. until the end of Saturday's MU football game.

The Columbia Police Department is posting barricades on the road to stop illegal parking and protect pedestrians trying to reach Memorial Stadium.

Barricades will be placed just south of the drive to the MU tennis courts and at the north drive of Providence Hill Apartments.

Before the game, law enforcement officials will direct eastbound traffic from Interstate 70 onto Stadium Boulevard.

Westbound drivers will be directed from I-70 to College Avenue and then Stadium Boulevard.

After the game, drivers will have to retrace the routes back to I-70.
