Columbia College volleyball team wins own tournament

COLUMBIA — The Columbia College volleyball team won its tournament over the weekend, defeating Lindsey Wilson College and Bethel University on Saturday to earn the Columbia College Classic title.

Combined with two tournament victories Friday, the Cougars built a 4-0 record to start the season.

Senior setter Paula Ferreira was awarded the tournament's most valuable player after having a combined 74 assists in both matches Saturday.

Elena Berroteran, Kahoriz Feliz and Brooke Simpson also represented the Cougars on the all-tournament team.

Next weekend, the Cougars will play in the Lee University Showcase in Cleveland, Tenn.
