Missouri men's golfers dominate at season's first tournament

The Missouri men's golf team won its season-opening tournament Monday, finishing at 22-under par at the 13-team Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate in Verona, N.Y.

Louisville was second at 3-under, and Memphis was third at 2-over.

Senior Jace Long led Missouri, winning individual honors with a 15-under 201 in the three-round event to record his eighth career victory.

Missouri junior Hunter Kraus finished in a four-way tie for third at 1-under, while junior Emilio Cuartero finished two strokes behind Kraus in a four-way tie for eighth at 1-over.

Missouri's next tournament is the Golfweek Conference Challenge set for Sept. 16 to18 in Burlington, Iowa.
