Elizabeth Gayle Smith, Aug. 9, 1931-Sept. 3, 2012, of Vivian, La.

Elizabeth Gayle Smith, (Betty Butler), 81, of Vivian, Louisiana and formerly of Columbia, passed away Monday, September 3, 2012. She was born on August 9, 1931, in Columbia, the daughter of the late Aubrey and Thelma (O’Brien) McGrath.

Mrs. Smith was a member of Memorial Baptist Church.  She was a graduate of Hickman High School and member of the National Art Honor Society, and the National Association for Northern Cherokees.

Survivors include her son, Steve Breedlove and wife Terri of Columbia, MO; her daughters, Angela Martin and husband Larry of Doyline, LA and Dena Moore and husband Paul of Vivian, LA; grandchildren, Cale and Cullen Breedlove; and brother, Cliff McGrath and wife Virginia all of Columbia.

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by four brothers, A.D. McGrath, Jr., Ted McGrath, Dan McGrath and Robert McGrath ans sister, Norma Simas.

Local services will be announced at a later date. Services in Louisiana are as follows. There will be a time of visitation from 6-8 pm on Friday, September 7, 2012 at Gorsulowsky Funeral Home in Vivian, LA. www.vivianfuneralhome.com.
