Cougars rout Benedictine in conference opener

After beginning the season 0-2, the Columbia College women's soccer team exploded in its conference opener against Benedictine University at Springfield. The Cougars defeated the Bulldogs by a score of 11-1 in Springifled, Ill., on Wednesday evening.

Amanda Caldwell scored two goals, and Natausha Sanchez, Elise Castellanos, Stephanie Hale, Rylee Bruhn, Amanda Caldwell, Taylor Goddard, Mackenzie Booth, Kelly McCreary, Kelly Westhues and Kelly Ross tallied one each.

The Cougars (1-2) will play their home opener at 4:30 p.m. Saturday against Mount Mercy University. The men's teams will play at 2 p.m.
