Police respond to broken windows at Papa John's

COLUMBIA — The glass doors at Papa John's Pizza on Broadway were broken Friday morning when manager DJ Sipho came to work.

When Sipho arrived around 8:45 a.m., two officers were waiting outside.

At 7:20 a.m., police responded to a call from a passer-by that the store at 1205 E. Broadway had a broken window, Latisha Stroer, Columbia Police Department spokeswoman, said in an email.

Sipho said the broken glass hasn't been affecting their business because "we usually do most of our business through online ordering, and people want delivery."

Nothing inside the store was missing Friday, Sipho said.

"This is the first time anything like this has happened," General Manager Pierce Fellers said.

There is no suspect information at this time, Stroer said.
