Thousands of cyclists hit roads this weekend

Motorists in Boone County should watch out for thousands of cyclists that will be riding for the fight against multiple sclerosis this weekend. 

Over 3,000 cyclists will be riding in the Bike MS: Express Scripts Gateway Getaway Ride on Saturday and Sunday, according to the Bike MS website. There will be three routes starting each day from the Boone County Fairgrounds. Cyclists can choose either a 40, 75 or 100 mile ride. The rides start at 7:30 a.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. Sunday.

Routes change with the day. On Saturday, bikers will head northeast toward Centralia. On Sunday routes will head east toward Fulton. 

Saturday routes will include but are not limited to: 

Route U, Route Y, Highway 151, Highway 22 and Route Z.

Sunday routes will include but are not limited to: 

Route HH, state Route D, state Route FF and state Route E.
