COLUMBIA — A man was arrested after chasing people across Broadway with a knife early Tuesday morning, according to a Columbia Police Department report.

Terry Leon Butler, 50, was attending a party at 1920 West Broadway when he pulled out a box cutter during an argument with another man, according to the report. He then threatened to kill everyone and began chasing people outside.

Earlier that evening, Butler had become upset and thrown a beer at a six-year-old child, according to the police department report.

Butler was arrested on suspicion of armed criminal action, first- and second-degree child endangerment, second- and third-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon.

Butler is held on a $28,000 bond.
