PHOTO GALLERY: Faces of the racers in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure

Oleva's Crew was participating in honor of Oleva Frederick, a 3-year cancer survivor. The team had 19 members, and this was its third year to participate in the race.

COLUMBIA — By 8 a.m. Sunday, around 2,600 people had registered for Columbia's Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, a 5K race that spreads breast cancer awareness and raises money for research. The Missourian's community outreach team went out to capture photos and stories of participants.
