FULTON — The Columbia College volleyball team continued its dominance over American Midwest Conference opponents with a 26-24, 25-16, 25-15 victory Thursday at William Woods in Fulton.
The win improved the Cougars' record to 11-1, including a 5-0 mark in conference play. The Cougars have now won 143 consecutive regular season matches against AMC opponents. They haven't lost a conference match since Oct. 3, 2002, when they fell to Missouri Baptist 32-30, 26-30, 27-30, 30-26, 12-15.
Junior outside hitter Nohely Perez led the attack against William Woods on Thursday with 14 kills, as well as contributing 16 digs. Senior setter Paula Ferreira had 41 assists, while senior Elena Berroteran had 23 digs on defense.
Columbia College is plays next Friday when the team takes on Bethel at 4 p.m. in the Kansas Wesleyan University Invitational in Salina, Kan.
