Tolton drops to 0-5 after loss at Marionville

COLUMBIA – The Tolton-Calvary football team gave up 22 unanswered points in the first quarter on its way to a 50-14 loss Saturday at Marionville.

Freshman running back Will Tindal scored for the Trailblazers on a 7-yard run in the second quarter. That score which was followed up by an Anthony Cofano two-point conversion reception from sophomore quarterback Jon Steinmetz.

Steinmetz, the second-string quarterback behind sophomore Christian Elliot, threw a touchdown in the fourth quarter, a 5-yard toss to classmate Caleb Lucero. The two-point conversion failed.

The Trailblazers (0-5) trailed 29-8 at halftime before the Comets (1-4) went on a 21-0 run to go up 50-8 at the start of the fourth quarter.

Tolton-Cavalry plays next when they host the Missouri Military Academy Colonels (0-4) at 4 p.m. on Oct. 5.
