Monday, September 24, 2012 | 7:36 p.m. CDT
COLUMBIA — Missouri player Whitney Little was named SEC Player of the Week on Monday for the week of Sept. 17-24.
Little, a sophomore middle blocker, led the Tigers (12-4, 3-1 SEC) in conference matches over the weekend at No. 13 Florida and at LSU. She averaged 5.57 points, 3.57 kills and 2.43 blocks per set over the two contests, including 15 kills and seven blocks in a 3-1 win over LSU on Sunday. Her 10 kills and 10 blocks were not enough to overcome the Gators, who swept the Tigers 3-0 on Friday.
She is the top-ranked blocker in the SEC with 1.93 blocks per set and is second in hits with a .414 average.
The Missouri volleyball team returns to the Hearnes Center at 6:30 p.m. Friday against Texas A&M.
