COLUMBIA — Missouri women's soccer player Lauren Flynn was named the SEC Freshman of the Week on Monday for the week of Sept. 17-24.

Flynn, a freshman defender, made her first collegiate goal a memorable one when she scored the game-winner in a 2-1 victory over Ole Miss in Columbia on Friday night. Her score was the second of two second-half goals that brought the Tigers back from an early 1-0 deficit. Flynn was also instrumental in a 2-0 shutout of Vanderbilt on Sunday.

The Missouri women's soccer team is set to travel to Athens, Ga., on Friday to take on Georgia at 6 p.m.
