Hickman softball team rolls past Ritenour

COLUMBIA – The Hickman softball team scored 10 runs in the first inning on its way to a commanding 13-0 shutout of visiting Ritenour on Monday.

Senior Sydney Washington led the Kewpies, going 4-for-4 with a home run and a double. Junior Allie Dishinger had a double as well while going 3-for-4, and sophomore Shannon Greene added a double and triple while batting 2-for-3.

Sophomore pitcher Morgan Hawkins was virtually flawless from the mound, allowing only one hit while striking out three batters and walking another in five innings.

Hickman, which improved to 13-7, is set to play Wentzville-Holt at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday at Cosmopolitan Park.
